Essay requirements:

Your application should include a typed essay of 500 words or less describing your professional goals.  Describe your goal statement when you applied to the NP program.  Has this changed? What is your current goal statement?  Please indicate how your involvement in educational, research, community, or professional activities will help you attain this goal. The essay should also highlight any personal achievements (but no generic statements such as: “I am passionate about nursing and I want to help the poor”, etc.).  Also, please remember that NPs do not practice medicine and are not “mid-level providers, physician extenders, non-physician providers”, so it is best not to use this terminology.  Please submit this as a Word document to the MICNP Busines Office at [email protected] by December 1, 2020.

Our selection process is blind, DO NOT include any identifying information in your essay. This includes your name, specific MICNP Chapter details, etc.  If identifying information is included in the essay (or reference forms), the application will be deleted.

Completed online application and all required elements detailed above are due by midnight on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.  Application packets that are missing any of the required items will not be considered.
