Session Description: Stress can be good but it can also be bad. This webinar will teach you how to recognize the differences and use simple techniques to decrease your stress levels and avoid burnout, in your practice and in your life.

About the Presenter:  Erika began her career in Emergency Medicine as a paramedic in Detroit. Her desire to continue with a career in patient care, led to completing an Associate Degree in Nursing from Oakland Community College in 2003. She has spent the last sixteen years in the Emergency Department of a large urban Detroit Level II Trauma Center, which sees over 100,000 patients a year. During this time, Erika completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and in 2016, completed her Master of Science in Nursing, both at the University of Michigan Flint. She is currently working in a busy urgent care in the metro Detroit area while working on completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, cooking and wine classes and spending time with her husband, four children, two dogs, guinea pig and four fish.

Learning Objectives:  At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be prepared to: 

1. Identify good and bad stress. 
2. Recognize personal stressors and risk for burnout. 
3. List positive techniques used to cope with stressors and avoid burnout.


Continuing Education Credits: MICNP is accredited by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as an approved provider of nurse practitioner continuing education. Provider number: 060714. This activity is approved for 1 contact hour(s).
