MICNP: Better Together

Strive to be Better than Good Enough

Throughout their careers Nurse Practitioners can choose to take many different roads. While some are looking to shine in their clinical settings, others feel the call to stay involved in the academic realm and teach the nurses of tomorrow. Others may want to enter the political arena, and advocate for nursing issues with state and federal lawmakers. No matter what roads we take, the best NPs have at least one thing in common. We never want to be done learning – always seeking to become more proficient in this ever-changing field. I like to ask NPs I meet, “What’s your specific passion within this profession? Have you found it yet?” If there is even a moments pause before they answer, I talk to them about the wealth of assets within the Michigan Council of Nurse Practitioners (MICNP).
