ICD Educational Resources

ICD Educational Resources
The Oct. 1, 2014, transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 codes will affect all entities covered by the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act. It's important for health care providers, health plans, clearinghouses, hospitals, payers and vendors to prepare for the transition now. As part of on-going efforts to help the industry prepare, CMS has released new educational resources to help providers with each phase of the ICD-10 implementation process, including: Online ICD-10 Guide, Introduction to ICD-10, Role of Clearinghouses in ICD-10 Transition, Basics for Small and Rural Practices and ICD-10 Resources Flyer. All entities covered by HIPAA are required to make the transition, not just those who submit Medicare or Medicaid claims.
